Vaccinated. Tested. Recovered. There has been a lot of media coverage about the EU's COVID digital certificate (formerly Green Certificate). So what does this mean for the travel and event industry? We give you an exclusive insight.
The EU's digital COVID certificate acts as a digital credential and is intended to facilitate the free movement of people within the European Union, as it is recognized by all member states.
Just in time for the travel season, the certificate will come into effect on July 1, 2021, and can be used throughout the EU. Over 40 million certificates have already been issued in Germany. But how does the digital COVID certificate work in practice? Tour operators in particular, but also organizers of cultural and sporting events, are asking themselves how the verification can be reconciled with existing processes.
Karim H. Attia, CEO of UBIRCH, explains in a compact webinar what the digital COVID certificate is, how it works, and how it can be integrated into existing processes in the travel and event industry in a resource-saving and efficient way.
