  • General questions on ESG and climate protection

It is often important to first get a general overview of the requirements of ESG reporting. Or also about more specific requirements of certain related regulations - such as the CBAM legislation or the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. Or you may be wondering how to get the emissions data of your activities in the first place, e.g. if your offices are heated with district heating.

    Ask the assistant, for example:

"What is ESG reporting and what is it good for?"
"What is the difference between CBAM and CSRD?"
"How can I get the emissions data if, for example, our office is heated by district heating?"

  • Questions on the classification of emissions

The training data of our ESG Assistant includes a wealth of information on legal requirements and the regulations of the GHG Protocol. It can therefore help you to assign certain emissions to the correct category and also to decide whether it is a Scope 1, 2 or 3 emission.

    Ask the assistant, for example:

"Our rented cloud servers consume 720kwH of electricity per month. In which category must the emissions from this be entered in accordance with the CSRD?"
"Where do the emissions from my tenants' New Year's Eve fireworks belong?"
    "Where do business trips belong?"

  • Specific calculations of emissions

The UBIRCH ESG Assistant knows many thousands of emission factors and sample data from authorized sources such as the Federal Environment Agency or databases from other EU institutions. This enables it to carry out very specific calculations of CO2 emissions.

    Ask the assistant, for example:

"How many emissions do 230kg of wood pellets cause? What value do I have to enter?"
"I only drive with bio-diesel. How many emissions does a trip from Munich to Hamburg cause if my car consumes an average of 12l/100km?"
"I have shipped goods with 10 refrigerated trucks over a distance of 4200 km. What are the resulting emissions?"

YOU can

You are a
publisher
of ESG data?

Publishers of ESG data are companies that have to make their ESG (environmental, social, governance) data available to others, for example as part of reporting obligations, tenders or purchasing.

They can make their ESG data available via the UBIRCH Data Exchange Network so that customers can obtain it from a central location. The data is digitally signed and can be obtained in various formats. In addition to company-wide footprint data (CCF), product-specific parameters (PCF) can also be stored.

YOU ARE A
COLLECTOR
OF ESG DATA?

ESG data collectors, also known as subscriber services, are intended for reporting companies that want to compile their Scope 3 footprint step by step.

They can include existing data publishers or request them if additional data is required. High-quality suppliers of 3rd party data can also play a role here to supplement missing data.
