In order to comply with CSRD reporting requirements many companies will need to collect real “primary” emissions data from a large number of third-party companies and to aggregate the correct proportions of these for their own Scope 3 emissions.
The ESG Data Exchange Network offers all the necessary functions in a clear and easy-to-use interface:
- All companies relevant for the own Scope 3 can be selected and collected in the supplier overview.
- The relevant shares can then be calculated from their published emissions data and aggregated into the 15 categories defined by the GHG Protocol in order to calculate the complete Scope 3 emissions.
- After completion, the entire aggregation, including all third-party input data used, is automatically documented in an audit-proof manner.
The most important prerequisite for the functioning of this Scope 3 aggregation is however, the complete availability of emissions data from all relevant companies on the platform. In order to achieve this with the least possible effort, UBIRCH offers a graduated portfolio of supplier onboarding functions and services, which are described below.
Supplier Onboarding Services:
-
Integrated invitation function
The integrated invitation function in the ESG Data Exchange Network makes it possible to create individual entries for missing supplier companies directly in the supplier list and send them an automatic invitation to register directly from the system. The specified company contact receives an email with a specific reference to the inviting party and a direct link to registration. After successful registration, they will automatically receive further support for the publication of their emissions data if needed, as stated in 4). The status of the supplier invitation can be monitored in the supplier list.
This function is ideal when it comes to onboarding a small number of suppliers and when good reactivity of the invitees can be expected.
-
Templates for own invitation
The templates for own invitation make it possible for a data collecting company, to invite a large number ofsuppliers and service providers to register themselves and with their own e-mail sender. The template text provided can be transferred to their own e-mail system, e.g.for a serial e-mail, and can be changed or extended as required. The integrated registration link automatically links each new registration to the inviting company.
This function is ideal when it comes to inviting a small to medium-sized number of suppliers, taking advantage of the fact that attention and reactivity may be improved because the invitation originates directly from the customer company.
-
SUPPLIER ONBOARDING FULL-SERVICE
UBIRCH's Supplier Onboarding Full-Service is a bundle of services in which UBIRCH plans and organizes the invitation process for a company's suppliers and service providers and carries out part or all of it in consultation. All suppliers receive invitations and multi-stage reminders as well as support along the way, from registration on the platform to the correct publication of their emissions data. Regular status meetings are held to report on progress and coordinate the next steps.
This Full-Service is ideal for Data Collectors, if you have a medium to large number of suppliers and want to keep your own onboarding costs and efforts as low as possible, while speeding up the data collection as much as possible.

Data Publication Support for Suppliers
UBIRCH's Data Publication Support provides advisory support for suppliers and service providers in the correct publication of their emissions data. If questions or uncertainties arise in the course ofdata provision, companies can first consult the integrated AI bot in the platform, which specializes in the publication of emissions data and the ESG Data Exchange Network and offers very detailed and specific assistance. In addition, experts from the UBIRCH team are also available upon request for personal consultation as part of the data publication process. UBIRCH also offers a collection of informative documents and explanatory videos on the publication of correct emissions data and the use of the ESG Data Exchange Network interface.
The Advisory Support and use of the AI bot are complementary for all network users and always suitable if companies have questions or difficulties in connection with the first publication of their emissions data.
The Speedy Onboarding Service is a paid add-on offer for smaller companies, without the ability or time to do the calculation and publication of emissions data themselves. UBIRCH then assists with the actual generation of CCF data for the company, following a standardized process.
-
Data completion services for collectors
The Public Data-Service is a service provided by UBIRCH in which UBIRCH creates and publishes a publication of emissions data in the ESG Data Exchange Network in place of and on behalf of the company, which references a published document, such as a sustainability report and therefore also represents a valid form of primary data.
The Industry Data-Service variant retrieves industry-typical emission factors from relevant reference databases to be used as secondary data. As a third option, it is possible for collecting companies to enter proprietary data for suppliers via internal vouchers.
These three services are useful choices for the data collecting company, if individual suppliers or service providers refuse to provide emissions data in the network e.g.with reference to their sustainability report or without giving reasons. As a result, it is in one or the other way possible to fill in all the gaps, so that the company's Scope 3 aggregation can finally be done all in one place.
